Since getting more into the groove of things of being a professional ghost blogger, I’ve gotten into the habit of waking up between 4am and 5am everyday for the past couple of months. Don’t ask me how I did this. Like clockwork, I wake up wide awake and ready for the day.
It’s pretty cool. By 8am I feel like I’ve already had a full day, worked out, done my early shower routine, had brekky, checked emails, reviewed and updated my to do list for the coming day and fed my piggies. I never considered myself a ‘morning’ person. The days I kept at uni followed me well into my adult life. Working late til 2, sometimes 3am, and waking up the next day to find most of it gone at 1 or 2pm. It wasn’t healthy. I didn’t realise how much I was missing out on. The saying that the morning will bring clarity can’t be more true. I wake up with my mind buzzing with ideas and ready to take on any challenge – something that I had to push myself with the hours I was previously used to being awake in. I feel closer to nature. I walk outside, see the sunrise, the cool morning air (it gets so hot here in the Philippines at noon time that one hardly wishes to venture outside the aircon confines). I get to listen to the musicality of nature. It’s so peaceful and hopeful. It’s such a great way to start the day!
What do you think? Are you a morning person too? Or more of a night owl? There’s nothing wrong with being a night owl too, everyone is different. I used to think my optimum time was 6-9pm, but since my body decided differently, I’m crashing by 9.30pm each night.
