Today’s blog post is a scrap out of my diary. A poem I wrote dedicated to the awesomest group of friends in the world! hehe This is like my first attempt at rhyming poetry, and more for those friends than anything else, but if you want a bit of a random laugh, here ya go, it makes sense when I read it out loud with my partner beatboxing haha hope you guys like it 🙂
THE HOT POT RAP
So we had to pick up our car, but had to travel far,
Sat on the train, it was really a pain.
All that was keeping me, was thinking of the nearing night,
and that hot pot that would be keeping us warm with delight.
Got to Inala and who do we see, it’s Jenny and Keith right there in our view.
Shopping and laughing, hipping and hopping, coz that’s what we do
Got fish and mussels and hot pot goodies,
relieved that we are all such foodies.
We had a great time,
which is what made me make this rhyme.
An hour passes, we get ready to go,
I felt so excited, I was ready to blow
We picked up our friends and got to see their scrapbook,
Inspired us to realise that ours was just a crap book
It was seven, when we arrived at the house of Fay,
We were greeted by Dzung who was ready to play
Prepped our food together, it was oh so nice,
Good thing Fay didn’t add too much spice
We get to the table, it’s set so so beautiful,
Made even better with the company of a handful.
We ate like pigs,
definitely not good for our rigs.
But luckily we had our fruit platters to come,
Made me feel much better about my bum
Next thing you know we were resting and content,
But not without a spin of taboo to let out our days and vent,
The game was intense, the pressure immense, but girls we run this, so we got to drop the pretence.
Not sure the end score, but I know all is fair in love a war
Moving to the games room, we got our Buzz on,
Pressing all the buttons, was no surprise that Fay and Dzung won.
Feeling defeat Tom and I fell to the pits,
While Jenny and Keith survived on their wits.
Changing the game, it was now Singstar,
We had to sing our loudest to keep up to par,
So much fun I was laughing hysterically,
All the gang was awesome, singing perfectly.
By then our voices became hoarse and gruff,
It was now time for the gang to get a little rough.
Slapping and hitting that’s all I saw,
Little big planet had tom hanging by a claw,
Not sure what happened next, it was a little hazy,
All I know was that I was feeling a little lazy,
A midnight snack that’s what we need,
So Fay got up and made us another feed.
The boys left to their own devices,
Joined us later in the kitchen just in time as Fay made her last slices.
Filling up on Chinese New Year cookies,
We talked about when we were all just little rookies,
The trends in school, that used to make us all feel cool,
Who would’ve known that owning a Diablo just made you a tool.
Sharing stories with this group of people, made me feel blessed & peaceful.
Talking amongst friends who were positive and gleeful.
Soon it was time, like 3 am, I was happy but sad a little too,
knowing that soon we would bidding adieu.
Thanks so much guys for a wonderful night,
Looking forward to our next outing, coz it was always feels right!
